Top 3 Tips for Parenting
Wether you are parenting a newborn, toddler, preschooler, elementary grade, pre teen, or teen, these top 3 tips can help you.
1. THE absolute best and Number one parenting tip is to listen. Learn to listen to The Lord, The Holy Spirit. Learn to listen to your spouse. AND learn to listen to your children. They are communicating! Are you listening?
James 1:19 -"...be QUICK to listen, but slow to speak AND SLOW to become angry!"
James 1:19 -"...be QUICK to listen, but slow to speak AND SLOW to become angry!"
2. Make sure you are setting the example for your children to follow. They will follow! It takes a miraculous act of sovereign grace for children of neglect and to break free from the cycle and move on to making a positive impact in their life and communities. Even then, if they don't know the Lord personally, their efforts are self made works and will not stand is the presence of Lord,
"Following the example of his father, he did what was pleasing to the Lord" -2 Kings15:3
"Following the example of his ancestors, he sinned against the Lord" -2 Kinds23:32
Proverbs 23:26 says, "Pay close attention, son, and let my life be your example."
Be the example for your children to follow. Lead by example. Lead from the front. Give them something to follow. Spend time in prayer. Spend time in Worship. Spend time in the Scriptures. Let them see your devotion to the Lord through out the week, not just on Sunday, or Saturday, or Wednesday.

3. Do not be afraid to speak the truth in Love AND do to neglect discipline. Discipline your children when they show they need it. Don't be afraid. Do not let the culture force you to conform to its way. The way of the world is selfish and leads to death and destruction. It leads to unfulfillment and resentment, guilt and eventually lots of shame. The way of the world and its culture is rebellious and yields the fruit of rebellion. Rebellion will never bring the true blessings of the Lord.
Show you love your children by Disciplining them.
Proverbs 22:16 give wise counsel to all who listen. "All children are foolish, but firm correction will make them change."

***One extra and VERY IMPORTANT tip about discipline. NEVER discipline out of anger or rage. Ever.
If this happens by accident be very quick to repent to God and ask forgiveness. Make sure to move on, When the Lord cleanses you he cleanses you. When he forgives you you are forgiven. Don't let the devil feed your mind with condemning thoughts. If you are truly in Christ you MUST realize and believe that there is NO condemnation effective abasing anyone found to have their lives planted and rooted in The Lord (Romans 8:1)
