Let There Be Light: The Risen Christ and the Power of the Spoken Word | The Morning Prayer Altar

​The Minstrel’s Note

When God commanded, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3), He was not setting off an abstract force—He was speaking through the eternal Word. Scripture makes it absolute: “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:3-4). Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, and by Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:15-17). At the Morning Prayer Altar, we bow exclusively to the supremacy and lordship of Jesus Christ. The darkness of this fallen world has no power against the shed blood and resurrection authority of our King. When Christ speaks Light, darkness is vanquished forever.

​Let There Be Light: Christ the True Light

“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.” — Genesis 1:3
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

• Step 1: The Outward Flame (The Sovereign Command)
  Observe the vibrant flame-like petals moving outward from the center. “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6). Recognize that no darkness in your life can resist the sovereign decree of the King of Kings.
  
• Step 2: The Hexagonal Border & Sealed Framework (Divine Order & Preeminence)
  Follow the structural bands and interlocking star anchoring the center. The Lord is not the author of confusion; Christ upholds the entire universe by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). Cast down every vain imagination and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
  
• Step 3: The Blazing Core (Jesus, the Light of the World)
  Fix your eyes on the burning central rings. Jesus declared: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). Look away from human strength and fix your gaze upon the cross and the empty tomb—the ultimate triumph of Light over sin and death.
  
• Step 4: The Altar Proclamation
  Look upon the scripture citation Genesis 1:3, stand firm in the authority of the Risen Lord, and declare aloud:
  

"Jesus Christ is Lord over all creation. I renounce every work of darkness, confusion, and fear in the mighty name of Jesus. His blood has secured my victory, His Word orders my steps, and His Light rules my heart. Let the true Light of Christ shine unhindered in and through my life today. Amen."
